At Spire Cardiff Hospital we understand that being tested and treated for sexually transmitted infections (STIs) may be a source of embarrassment for some people. That is why we offer a dedicated and highly confidential sexual health clinic with a leading specialist in this area.
Our consultants
The sexual health clinic is run by Dr A Abdullah, a consultant in genitourinary medicine and a specialist in sexual health testing and managements.
He has a wealth of experience from his NHS post and delivers an excellent service at the hospital.
Dr Abdullah will see patients who have been in contact with infections, patients who would like to be screened to exclude infections, as well as patients with discharge, lumps or ulcerations which could be due to sexually transmitted infections.

We pride ourselves in offering our patients a completely confidential consultation that centres on your clinical need. This may involve history taking and an examination. Your consultant will then discuss any tests that may be required and treatment options.
We offer tests for sexually transmitted infections including chlamydia, gonorrhoea, herpes, HIV and hepatitis and syphilis. These tests are performed either by taking a blood sample, a swab, or urine sample which is analysed in our laboratories.
Any tests conducted will be analysed by our highly skilled on-site pathology team using advanced equipment of the highest quality. You can be assured that any test, no matter how complex, will be assessed quickly to speed up your diagnosis.
