Professional profile

I have been an Orthopaedic consultant in Cardiff for over eight years. I specialise in hip and knee surgery and my practice is focused on hip replacement and knee replacement surgery. I do revision surgery for hips and knees and have a tertiary referral practice for this.

My surgical practice is influenced by my fellowship training at the Massachusetts General Hospital, Boston where I gained extensive experience in complex hip and knee replacement problems and various techniques of dealing with these situations.

My prime objective is a thorough assessment for each individual I meet in the clinic and to decide the best possible option for treatment. I believe in patient centred care and meticulous attention to detail as as to ensure everyone gets the best possible care.

I perform over 200 joint replacement operations every year. This includes hip and knee replacement operations as well as revision surgery. I do nearly 100 knee arthroscopies every year.

I am an honorary lecturer in Orthopaedics for Cardiff University. I am also the regional surgical advisor for the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh.
