Mr Roger McPherson
BM, FRCO (Ophth)
I am a consultant ophthalmic and vitreoretinal surgeon at the Cardiff Eye Clinic and the University Hospital of Wales, Cardiff.
I qualified from Southampton University Medical School in 1986 and joined the British Army on a short service commission to begin training as an ophthalmologist. I was an ophthalmology registrar in Cardiff and Swansea, before undertaking a vitreoretinal fellowship in Melbourne.
At Spire Cardiff Hospital I provide a general ophthalmology and cataract surgery service as well as consultations for ocular trauma, diabetic eye disease and vitreoretinal disorders.
Some of the principal treatments carried out by Mr Roger McPherson at Spire include:
Retinal laser surgery, small incision cataract surgery
Spire Cardiff Hospital is only able to provide Covid-19 tests to patients undergoing surgery at our hospital. Covid-19 testing or antibody tests are not available as a standalone service.
