Virtual consultations:
I am a Consultant Gynaecologist with over 26 years’ experience, with specialist expertise in urogynaecology and pelvic floor disorders. I provide a comprehensive, patient‑centred service for the assessment and management of bladder and pelvic floor symptoms, including urinary incontinence, overactive bladder, and pelvic organ prolapse.
My practice offers advanced diagnostic investigations such as cystoscopy and urodynamic studies, alongside a full spectrum of treatment options. These include conservative therapies such as pelvic floor rehabilitation and vaginal pessaries—as well as minimally invasive and surgical interventions, including intravesical Botox, posterior tibial nerve stimulation, colposuspension, autologous fascial sling procedures, complex prolapse surgery including sacrospinous fixation, and complex laparoscopic (keyhole) surgery. I am committed to tailoring treatment plans to each individual, with a strong emphasis on conservative management wherever appropriate.
In addition to my subspecialist work, I manage a wide range of general gynaecological conditions, including heavy menstrual bleeding, menstrual irregularities, fibroids, ovarian cysts, chronic pelvic pain, and endometriosis. I also provide comprehensive menopause care, offering both hormonal and non‑hormonal treatments to address vasomotor, psychological, and genitourinary symptoms.
My expertise extends to early pregnancy care, infertility, and the management of obstetric perineal injuries. I lead a multidisciplinary team in Cardiff, delivering high-quality, evidence-based care to women across South Wales.
I undertook advanced training during a sabbatical at King’s College Hospital London under Professor Linda Cardozo, a world-renowned leader in urogynaecology, and have further developed my expertise through training with leading specialists in the United States and Europe. I trained at the University of Wales College of Medicine and completed my postgraduate training in South Wales, where I was awarded an MD for my research into the role of power Doppler ultrasonography in reproductive medicine.
I was developed the Urogynaecology service in Cardiff in 2003. I combine extensive clinical experience with a strong commitment to clear communication and shared decision-making. I am widely published and maintain an active interest in research, reflecting my ongoing dedication to advancing women’s health.
Outside of work, I enjoy family life with my wife, who is also a gynaecologist, and our four children. I have a keen interest in travel and enjoy spending time with our pets.
