Mr Paul Hodgson
Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon
MB BCh, MRCS (Eng), FRCS (Tr & Orth), MD
I qualified from Cardiff Medical School in 2000. I have an interest in foot/ankle trauma and ankle sports injuries. I manage all aspects of elective foot and ankle surgery, in particular arthroscopic surgery, deformity correction (including bunion and lesser toe correction) and percutaneous achilles tendon repair.
I trained in orthopaedic and trauma surgery in South Wales before receiving fellowship training in Bristol under Mr Ian Winson. In the NHS I work at both the University Hospital of Wales and University Hospital Llandough. In March 2013 I was awarded an MD by Cardiff University for research on cartilage pathology and continue to be involved in work on cartilage research in the department of biosciences.
Some of the principal treatments carried out by Mr Paul Hodgson at Spire include:
Consultant Trauma and Orthopaedic Surgeon, Cardiff and Vale University Health Board
Honorary Clinical Teacher, Cardiff University
Outside of the working environment my interests involve sport, cinema, music and spending time with my wife and daughter. I represented my university playing football but now involvement is mainly as a spectator.
