I am a consultant ophthalmologist based in Cardiff, Wales, specialising in cataract surgery, refractive lens exchange, corneal transplantation, and a range of other corneal and conjunctival procedures. I am also the Consultant Lead for Cataract Services at Cwm Taf Morgannwg University Health Board. Alongside my NHS consultant role, I provide private care at Spire Cardiff Hospital.
I am a high-volume cataract surgeon, performing and supervising around 100 cataract operations each month. For suitable private patients, I offer same-day bilateral cataract surgery using needle‑free topical anaesthesia, enabling rapid visual recovery with minimal discomfort.
I graduated from the University of Cambridge and completed my ophthalmology training in Wales, followed by advanced fellowship training in cornea and anterior segment surgery at Bristol Eye Hospital and Cheltenham General Hospital.
As a Fellow of both the Royal College of Ophthalmologists (UK) and the European Board of Ophthalmology, I am a dual board‑certified eye surgeon. I also hold the UK specialist certificate in laser and refractive surgery (CertLRS), reflecting my expertise in advanced vision correction techniques.
I am a Surgical Skills Faculty Trainer at the Royal College of Ophthalmologists, where I teach and mentor ophthalmology trainees nationally. In addition to my clinical work, I have authored more than 20 peer‑reviewed publications and regularly present at national and international meetings. I am also a member of UKISCRS and EuCornea.
