I qualified from Edinburgh medical school in 1991 then completed my training in London spending three years in research at the Royal Brompton Hospital studying new asthma treatments. I have recently stepped down after 10 years leading training and recruitment to respiratory medicine in the UK. I am a lecturer at Cardiff University medical school.
