Professional profile

I am a Consultant in Obstetrics & Gynaecology at Cardiff and Vale UHB since June 2009. I graduated from Calcutta University and then came to UK for postgraduate training. This included Specialist Registrar posts in Leeds and Nottingham before I moved to South Wales in 2005.

As a specialist in Gynaecology, I am trained to deal with all general gynaecology problems. In addition to this, I have received specialist training in minimal access surgery and ultrasound. I have completed an MSc in Obstetrics and Gynaecological Ultrasound from Cardiff University with distinction. This has helped me in the one-stop management of many gynaecological conditions. I run the Pelvic Mass Clinic along with the Gynae-oncologists.

I have great interest in teaching and training and am local supervisor for ultrasound training. My other interests include the management of menstrual disorders, utero vaginal prolapse, early pregnancy problems and minimal access surgery.

I am known to provide individualised patient care and believe in a joint approach with the patient in decision making.
