I am a Consultant Upper Gastrointestinal and General Surgeon practising at Spire Cambridge Lea Hospital providing treatment to patients in Cambridge and the wider East of England region. I provide specialist care for a wide range of upper gastrointestinal and digestive conditions. My clinical expertise focuses on minimally invasive (laparoscopic or keyhole) surgery, endoscopy and the management of both benign and complex oesophagogastric disease.
My practice includes the diagnosis and treatment of conditions such as gallbladder disease, hernias and gastro‑oesophageal reflux disease. I offer advanced treatments including laparoscopic gallbladder removal, laparoscopic hernia repair and anti-reflux surgery using minimally invasive techniques.
I also specialise in upper gastrointestinal endoscopy, including the assessment and management of Barrett’s oesophagus and early oesophageal disease, as well as the treatment of oesophageal and gastric cancers. My approach ensures patients receive timely diagnosis and access to effective, evidence-based treatments tailored to their condition.
I completed my basic surgical training in Nottingham before undertaking higher specialist training in Oxford. I went on to take up a Consultant Upper GI Surgeon post at Addenbrooke’s Hospital in Cambridge, where I work as part of a leading multidisciplinary team delivering high-quality care.
I have a strong academic background and completed a higher degree (MD) focused on oesophagogastric cancer surgery, which continues to inform my clinical practice. Alongside my surgical work, I have contributed to research, teaching and training, supporting the development of future surgeons and advancing standards in gastrointestinal care.
