I am a Consultant Gynaecologist specialising in da Vinci® robotic-assisted surgery for many gynaecological procedures such as hysterectomy and endometriosis resection. I have 26 years’ experience in gynaecology. I completed my specialist training in the East of England and London developing extensive expertise in advanced laparoscopic and robotic-assisted surgery which I offer in my private practice at Spire Cambridge Lea Hospital.
I am the Lead Surgeon for the Robotic Gynaecology and Endometriosis Services at Bedfordshire Hospital. In this role, I lead the development and delivery of advanced robotic and keyhole (laparoscopic) surgical services for women with a wide range of gynaecological conditions, including severe and complex endometriosis.
I perform most of my surgical procedures using advanced robotic and keyhole techniques. These minimally invasive approaches allow patients to benefit from smaller incisions, reduced postoperative pain, lower complication rates, shorter hospital stays, faster recovery and an earlier return to everyday activities.
I have expertise in the diagnosis and surgical management of endometriosis and highly specialised in treating women with endometriosis, fibroids, ovarian cysts, heavy menstrual bleeding, chronic pelvic pain, and hysterectomy surgery. My aim is to provide personalised, evidence-based care using the most advanced surgical techniques, helping women achieve the best possible outcomes while minimising recovery time and disruption to their lives.
I have performed hundreds of complex laparoscopic and robotic procedures and played a key role in training and supporting other consultants across the region in the delivery of safe and effective minimally invasive surgery. Through surgical training courses, mentorship programmes and hands-on supervision, I have helped develop the skills of fellow gynaecologists and promote best practice in advanced endometriosis and minimally invasive surgery.
This work has been recognised nationally. Our endometriosis service has been accredited by the British Society for Gynaecological Endoscopy (BSGE) as a nationally accredited Endometriosis Centre, reflecting our commitment to delivering the highest standards of multidisciplinary care for women with complex endometriosis.
I have a strong interest in medical education and regularly organise lectures, small-group teaching sessions and surgical workshops for trainees and healthcare professionals. I have published numerous articles in peer-reviewed medical journals and actively contribute to the advancement of gynaecological surgery through education, training and research.
I also act as a mentor to consultants and senior trainees developing their skills in advanced laparoscopic and robotic surgery, supporting the delivery of safe and effective minimally access surgery across the region.
I aim to empower patients with adequate information so they can make the best decisions for their own particular circumstances.
Outside of work, I am a dedicated family man with three children and enjoy spending quality time with my family. In my spare time, I enjoy swimming and playing tennis.
