I am a Consultant Gynaecologist with special interests in endometriosis, advanced laparoscopic and hysteroscopic surgery and menstrual disorders. I work in the Cambridge Endometriosis and Endoscopic Surgery Unit (CEES-U), Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust and Addenbrooke's Hospital.

I am a European Board Certified Gynaecologist. I graduated from Bologna University, Italy in 2009 and earned my PhD from the VUMC, Amsterdam, The Netherlands in 2013. I have extensive experience in laparoscopic surgery for endometriosis and benign gynaecological diseases (I've performed hundreds of endoscopic surgeries). I am dedicated to helping women with endometriosis have a better quality of life and improving their fertility. I won two international awards in the field of Endometriosis and Female Health Awareness in the USA

I was appointed as a Consultant Gynaecology Surgeon at the Sacred Heart Hospital in Negrar, Verona, Italy, one of the biggest European centres for gynaecological laparoscopy and endometriosis, until February 2016. I was then appointed at the Endometriosis Centre of Bologna University Hospital, which is one of the busiest endometriosis centres in Europe. I was there up until until March 2019, after which I moved to University Hospitals, Cambridge, where I helped establish the Cambridge Endometriosis and Endoscopic Surgery Unit (CEES-U).

I am a recognised international expert in the field of endometriosis and minimally invasive surgery and am regularly invited to speak at national and international congresses on the subject. I have a keen interest in teaching complex endometriosis surgery both in the UK and internationally.

I offer expert ultrasound diagnosis and management of endometriosis and benign reproductive disorders. I am also a world class surgeon, offering high-level endoscopic surgery to endometriosis and benign gynaecological diseases. I have a strong academic interest and have published extensively in peer-reviewed journals in the fields of endometriosis and advanced laparoscopic surgery.

I am an Assistant Professor of Obstetrics and Gynaecology at Alexandria University, Egypt and the President of the Middle East Society of Gynaecological Endoscopy (MESGE).
