Professional profile

James is a skilled manual therapist and draws from a range of hands on therapies, including; spinal manipulation, peripheral joint mobilisation, soft tissue release, acupuncture and dry needling. James also has a degree in sport and exercise sciences which underpins his movement analysis and exercise prescription skills when designing rehabilitation programs.

Having worked alongside several sport and exercise medicine consultants, a specialist podiatrist and a team of highly skilled exercise therapists as part of a MOD multi-disciplinary injury assessment service, James is particularly skilled in helping rehabilitate individuals with recurring, chronic and difficult to manage problems. He is also interested in clinical research and has been involved in the collection of data for several multicentre research activities for Defence Medical Rehabilitation Centre Headley Court. Prior to life as a physiotherapist, James has also been a Royal marine and was a professional martial artist until 2002. Since qualifying as a chartered physiotherapist in 2006, James has worked in professional sport, occupational health, private practice, the National Health Service and as a specialist physiotherapist for the Ministry of Defence (MOD). He is currently completing a masters degree in Neuromusculoskeletal physiotherapy at the University of Hertfordshire.
