  • Hernia surgery

I am a Consultant General Surgeon in Cambridge specialising in hepatopancreatobiliary (HPB) surgery, with a particular focus on conditions affecting the liver, pancreas and biliary system, as well as liver transplantation. I provide expert care for both benign and complex conditions, combining advanced surgical techniques with a patient-centred approach to deliver the best possible outcomes.

At Spire Cambridge Lea Hospital, I offer private consultations and minimally invasive (keyhole) surgery, including laparoscopic gallbladder removal for gallstone disease. I also offer selected procedures using the da Vinci robotic-assisted surgical system, enabling greater precision, smaller incisions and potentially faster recovery for suitable patients.

Alongside my private practice, I am based at Addenbrooke’s Hospital, Cambridge, one of the UK’s leading tertiary referral centres for liver and pancreatic surgery. Here, I serve as Clinical Director of Transplantation and manage a highly specialised workload that includes complex liver and pancreatic surgery for cancer and non-cancerous conditions, as well as liver transplantation.

I have a strong interest in advanced minimally invasive surgery and have contributed to the development of laparoscopic and keyhole techniques for liver, pancreatic and biliary procedures. This includes the management of complex gallstone disease, bile duct conditions and pancreatitis, where precision and experience are critical to achieving the best outcomes.

In addition to my clinical work, I am actively involved in surgical education and training as a Training Programme Director for General Surgery in the East of England. I am passionate about developing the next generation of surgeons and maintaining the highest standards of surgical care and patient safety.
