I am a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon in Cambridge, with extensive experience in the diagnosis and treatment of spinal disorders, including degenerative conditions, spinal deformities and spinal injuries. I practise privately at Spire Cambridge Lea Hospital and have devoted my career to delivering specialist spinal care using evidence-based and minimally invasive techniques.
I graduated from the Medical University of Warsaw in 1974, where I also completed my orthopaedic training and PhD. I moved to the UK in 1986 to further develop my expertise, working within leading spinal units including Nottingham, Stanmore, University College London and achieving Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons (FRCS). In 1993 I was appointed Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon at Hinchingbrooke Hospital where I developed a specialist interest in spinal surgery.
Since 1997 to the end of 2007 I was involved in the work of Spinal Deformity Clinic as an Honorary Consultant Spinal Surgeon in Addenbrookes Hospital. At present I am associated with the Spinal Unit in Nottingham University Hospital as an Honorary Consultant Spinal Surgeon consultant.
Throughout my career I have focused on treating a wide range of spinal conditions, including back pain, sciatica, slipped discs, spinal stenosis, neck pain and spinal trauma. I have particular expertise in the management of spinal deformities in both adolescents and adults as well as complex degenerative conditions affecting the cervical, thoracic and lumbar spine.
During my years of training and practice in the UK I have presented and published numerous papers on the subject.
