I am a Consultant Plastic & Reconstructive surgeon at the Spire Lea and at Addenbrooke's Hospital, Cambridge. Having graduated from Cambridge University I went on to specialise in plastic surgery and have trained in centers both within the UK and internationally. These subspecialty fellowships included a year spent as the microsurgical fellow at the Royal Adelaide Hospital, Australia and a further year of microsurgical fellowship at St Andrews, Broomfield, Essex - a world renowned center for breast reconstruction. During my training, I was also awarded a travelling fellowship to The Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Centre, New York. Following the completion of my training I was entered onto the GMC specialist register for plastic surgery in 2013, prior to be appointed as a Consultant.
In my NHS practice I am the clinical lead for major trauma reconstruction. My main area of interest is in the reconstruction of traumatic injuries with a particular focus on the microsurgical reconstruction of the injured extremity. I am also a core member of the skin cancer multi-disciplinary service. This role involves the treatment and management of all forms of skin cancer which includes being able to offer sentinel lymph node biopsy.
I am the specialty lead for Audit & Governance at Addenbrooke's Hospital, Cambridge. This role involves helping to oversee and deliver a high quality service for our patients.
Alongside my clinical role I am actively involved in the teaching and mentorship of junior doctors and medical students.
