I am a Gastroenterologist with over 10 years' experience at consultant level. I am the Clinical Director of the digestive diseases directorate at Addenbrookes Hospital. My subspecialist expertise is in endoscopic procedures, in which I provide high quality endoscopy outcomes for all my patients. In addition to this, my clinical practice includes diagnosis and treatment of any condition that can cause abdominal symptoms, reflux or bowel habit changes to my patients.

In my clinics I specialise in diagnosis and management of gastrointestinal, liver and pancreatic disorders. I see patients with a wide variety of abdominal symptoms from reflux to abdominal pain to bowel habit problems. I have expertise in irritable bowel syndrome, inflammatory bowel disease (Crohn's and Colitis), coeliac disease, gastroesophageal reflux, bowel polyps, suspected bowel cancer and many other common gastrointestinal conditions.

In addition to my clinic work in which I ensure patients receive the highest quality care in the outpatients, I have extensive endoscopic experience. I have performed over 10,000 colonoscopy procedures and over 10,000 gastroscopy procedures. I also sub-specialise in complex therapeutic endoscopy including ERCP, colorectal endoscopic resection and endoscopic stenting. I also provide capsule endoscopy services, including small bowel and colon capsule endoscopy.

In addition to my clinical practice I am passionate about ensuring the education of trainees. I was the foundation doctor training programme director and also set up the national endoscopic training centre in Cambridge. I am also experienced in running services, in my role of clinical director, I have established highly efficient NHS pathways for diagnosis of gastrointestinal cancer.
