At Spire Bristol Hospital we offer the Transcatheter Aortic Valve Insertion (TAVI) procedure for heart valve replacement as an alternative to open heart surgery.
The procedure is used to treat aortic stenosis (a narrowed heart valve) and can help relieve symptoms such as breathlessness, chest pain and in severe cases, heart failure.

The TAVI procedure is carried out in our hybrid theatre which is equipped with advanced medical imaging that can be used to perform minimally-invasive surgery. Following your heart valve replacement surgery, you'll be monitored in our high dependency unit before returning to your own private room.
A cardiologist, cardiac surgeon and anaesthetist will take care of you during your operation. They're supported by nurses, intensive care nurses and physiotherapists who'll monitor your progress closely until you return home.
