Healthcare assistant to Theatre Manager

Our hospital is absolutely delighted to announce the appointment of Justin Escott into the substantive post of Theatre Manager. The role of Theatre Manager is critically important for Spire Bristol Hospital to continue development of its paediatric and critical care services. There is no one better to take on the challenge of managing five theatres within the South West’s largest independent hospital other than an individual who has dedicated his life to the healthcare industry.

Justin started out his career as a healthcare assistant in 1997, right here at the Glen Hospital when it was formerly under the BUPA name. A year later he started training in 1998 as an Operating Department Practitioner, at the old Bristol Frenchay Hospital, subsequently qualifying in 2000.

He left Frenchay in 2005 only to find himself back at the Glen. However this was short lived as Justin moved back to the public sector and started working for the NHS treatment centre, UKSH (now known as Care UK). Working his way up through various roles from Anaesthetic Team Leader to Deputy Theatre Manager, he finished off there in the role as Acting Theatre Manager. In 2009, as destiny would have it, Justin returned to the Spire Bristol Hospital for the third time taking on the role as Deputy Theatre Manager before his progression today as Spire Bristol’s Theatre Manager.

This appointment is a great addition to a hospital which has been a long standing healthcare provider within a City that is experiencing an increase in demand for its services.
