I'm a consultant ENT surgeon who has experience in all disorders of the ear nose throat and neck, but with a special interest in otology (disease of the ear). 

I treat a range of conditions, including hearing loss, glue ear, holes in the eardrum and cholesteatoma. I currently run the regional ear implant service. At the end of my training I was awarded the TWJ Otology Fellowship as the top trainee in ear surgery in the UK. 

I'm also have diverse academic interest in ear disease and global health. I was formally Phizackerley Senior scholar at Balliol College Oxford where his DPhil was in genetic susceptibility to otitis media (inflammation of the middle ear). 

I now work on global ear disease, and have trained health workers in Cambodia, Nepal, South Africa, Fiji and Uganda, and I'm consultant to the WHO program on prevention of deafness and hearing loss.

I also work with national and international partners on labour rights concerns in healthcare supply chains, and in 2006 founded the award-winning Medical Fair and Ethical Trade Group at the British Medical Association.
