Specialises in
I am a Chartered Physiotherapist with 16 years' experience. In addition to Women's Health, my clinical background includes posts in Low Back Pain clinics, Occupational Health and Ergonomics, Orthopaedic Rehab and Long Term Conditions management, working in the NHS, private and public sector organisations.
I have had extensive post-graduate training in many areas of Women's Health, including acupuncture in Women's Health, continence management, pelvic floor rehabilitation and treatment and exercise before and after pregnancy. I am also a Clinical Pilates instructor and have specialised in Ante and Postnatal Pilates.
There is a strong body of evidence supporting the effectiveness of physiotherapy in the treatment of many Women's Health conditions, including prolapses and incontinence. A result of which is the recommendation by the National Institute for Health and Clinical Excellence (NICE) for physiotherapy in the first instance to treat these conditions.
The Women's Health physiotherapy service at Spire offers a relaxed and discreet environment where sensitivity around Women's Health issues is recognised. The initial assessment is 1 hour in duration, allowing time for patients to give a detailed history and to talk through the issues thoroughly, enabling a realistic treatment plan to be agreed upon and tailored to the needs and lifestyle of the patient.
Referrals include those from Consultants, GP's and self-referring patients.
Some of the principal treatments carried out by Mrs Jasmine Lewis at Spire include:
