I have worked as a Consultant GI Surgeon in Brighton for 20 years. As a result, I have extensive experience in both upper and lower GI surgery including cancer resections. Currently my main focus in on benign disease particularly the treatment of gallstones (1,800 cases keyhole gallstone surgery), hernia repairs and endoscopy. I also remain on the emergency and major trauma rota at the University Hospitals Sussex in Brighton.
I have trained in Southampton, London and Birmingham. Also undertook a two year research programme in the USA studying treatments for sepsis.
I have been involved in the national bowel cancer screening programme for 10 years and is lead colonoscopist for the Sussex programme.
I was the Royal College Surgical tutor in Brighton for several years and maintains a keen interest in training young surgeons.

I live locally with my family. My hobby's include tennis, cycling, skiing and looking after a small menagerie of pets.
