Mr Michael Cass
Consultant Orthopaedic Spinal Surgeon
MB, FRCS, FRCS (Orth)
I originally qualified in 1991 at Charing Cross & Westminster Medical School. I then had my orthopaedic training from the North West Thames orthopaedic training scheme and later took on specialist training with the Spinal unit of the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital, Stanmore.
I've helped introduce revolutionary procedures and techniques to the South Coast, including anterior lumbar surgery, lumbar disc replacement, minimally invasive spinal surgery and vertebroplasty.
I also teach as a faculty member on several national and international courses.
I maintain close ties with many other leading spinal surgeons around the UK.
Some of the principal treatments carried out by Mr Michael Cass at Spire include:
Full range of surgical treatments for all spinal disorders including degenerative (arthritic) problems, spinal trauma and tumours involving the spine.
COVID-19 testing or antibody tests are not available as a standalone service at The Montefiore Hospital.
British Orthopaedic Association
British Association of Spinal Surgeons

Along with my young family, I have a wide variety of interests including cycling, sea kayaking, ballroom dancing and music.
