I qualified from Newcastle University in 2001 and then went on to complete my basic and higher surgical training where I specialised in breast and reconstructive surgery. I trained in all the major breast screening units in the North East, gaining great experience in the management of breast cancer.
Prior to becoming a consultant, I was appointed to a national advanced reconstructive/cosmetic fellowship at the Sheffield Teaching Hospitals. I commenced practice as a consultant general surgeon with a specialist interest in breast and reconstructive surgery in 2013 at Northumbria Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust. I was appointed as a consultant at Gateshead Health NHS foundation trust in 2016.
I specialise in all conditions related to benign and malignant breast disease. I incorporate techniques from cosmetic and reconstructive surgery to improve cosmetic outcome following surgery.
