MBBS, FRCS Ed(Orth)
I completed my medical training at the University of Newcastle upon Tyne, graduating in 1992, and I am currently based at the University Hospital of North Durham. My clinical practice covers all aspects of hip and knee care, with a particular focus on joint replacement and minimally invasive techniques designed to support faster recovery and long-term outcomes. I practice privately at Spire Washington Hospital welcoming patients from the North East including Durham, Sunderland and Newcastle areas.
I provide comprehensive treatment for a wide range of conditions affecting the hip and knee, including arthritis, joint degeneration and injury. My expertise includes primary hip and knee replacement, revision surgery for previously replaced joints, and resurfacing hip replacement. I also perform arthroscopic (keyhole) knee surgery, allowing for accurate diagnosis and treatment of knee problems with smaller incisions and reduced recovery time. In addition, I manage selected forefoot conditions and orthopaedic trauma.
My approach is to deliver straightforward advice and personalised treatment plans, helping you understand your options and feel confident in your care.
