Virtual consultations:
I am a Consultant Gynaecologist with specialist expertise in both benign gynaecological conditions and the investigation and management of pre-malignant and malignant gynaecological disease. I am the trust-wide Gynaecological Cancer Lead Clinician, designated surgeon for low-risk endometrial cancers, and Site Colposcopy Lead Clinician within my NHS trust.
My general gynaecology practice includes the investigation and medical or surgical management of conditions such as heavy menstrual bleeding, endometriosis, fibroids, pelvic cysts and masses, polyps, vulval conditions, uncomplicated genital prolapse and reversal of sterilisation procedures.
I also have extensive experience in the investigation and management of suspected gynaecological cancers and pre-cancerous conditions. This includes colposcopy and cervical screening, advice relating to cervical smear results, HPV and HPV vaccination, as well as ovarian and endometrial cancer screening. I regularly assess abnormal bleeding, suspicious pelvic masses and suspected cervical or vulval cancer.
I perform surgery for low-risk endometrial cancer, in line with national guidelines, and for pelvic masses with a low or intermediate risk of malignancy. Depending on the condition and individual patient needs, I offer both open surgery and advanced minimally invasive (laparoscopic) procedures. These include laparoscopic hysterectomy, laparoscopic subtotal hysterectomy, laparoscopic ovarian cyst removal, hysteroscopic surgery, endometrial ablation and risk-reducing surgery for women with inherited genetic cancer risks.
Within my NHS practice, I work as part of a multidisciplinary team to ensure every patient receives care tailored to their individual circumstances and treatment goals.
My clinical interests include gynaecological cancers, investigation of suspicious bleeding and pelvic masses, colposcopy and cervical screening, vulval disease, menstrual disorders, endometriosis and fibroids. I am also experienced in both minimally invasive and abdominal gynaecological surgery, with a focus on providing safe, personalised and compassionate care throughout every stage of treatment.
