Consultant Gynaecologist
MBBS, MD, MRCOG, MSc, BSCCP Accreditation
Some of the principal treatments carried out by Mr Partha Sengupta at Spire include:
As a gynaecologist my practice is divided into two areas; investigation and management of benign gynaecological disease; investigation and management of suspected or confirmed pre-malignant/malignant gynaecological disease. I am the trust wide gynaecological cancer lead clinician and designated surgeon for low-risk endometrial cancers, as well as site colposcopy lead clinician in my NHS trust.
My areas of interest in general gynaecology include the investigation and medical/surgical management of benign disease (eg menorrhagia, endometriosis, polyps, pelvic cysts or masses, fibroids, vulval diseases, uncomplicated genital prolapse, reversal of sterilisation).
Areas of interest in relation to gynaecological cancers and pre-malignant disease include colposcopy and cervical screening (management and advice related to cervical smears), ovarian & endometrial cancer screening and advice, investigation of abnormal bleeding, suspicious pelvic masses/cysts & suspected cervical or vulval cancer. I operate on low-risk endometrial cancers (within national guidelines) and pelvic masses of low or intermediate risk of malignancy. Gynaecological surgery performed for the above conditions includes open surgery (where indicated eg laparotomy for large pelvic cysts or masses) and advanced minimal access surgery (where indicated eg laparoscopic hysterectomy, laparoscopic subtotal hysterectomy, laparoscopic ovarian cystectomy, prophylactic risk-reducing surgery for genetic cancers, hysteroscopic surgery, endometrial ablation).
Within the NHS, most of my work is multi-disciplinary based and individualised to the patient's needs, to ensure a high standard of care.

Sadly I do not play golf or sail. However I am a keen football fan (Spurs and Newcastle), have eclectic music tastes (from Pink Floyd to classical) and am enjoy spending time with my family. I am also considering more physical activity in the future.
