I am a specialist spinal orthopaedic surgeon specialising in the assessment and surgical treatment of a wide range of spinal conditions, supporting patients across Sunderland, Washington and the wider Northeast area.
My priority is to provide clear, compassionate and personalised care, taking time to understand my patients’ symptoms and to explain all suitable treatment options. Wherever appropriate, I offer minimally invasive spinal surgery, which can help reduce post‑operative pain, shorten hospital stays and support a faster return to everyday activities.
As a specialist orthopaedic spinal surgeon, I treat conditions affecting the cervical (neck), thoracic and lumbar spine, including back and neck pain, nerve compression and spinal instability. I have a special interest in problems associated with the ageing spine, such as osteoporosis and degenerative changes. I also manage more complex conditions including degenerative scoliosis and kyphosis, spinal tumours, spinal trauma and infections, as well as coccygeal and sacroiliac joint disorders. In addition, I undertake medico‑legal work relating to spinal conditions and injuries.
I completed my orthopaedic training in India before undertaking specialist spinal fellowships in the UK and Europe, including advanced training in minimally invasive spinal surgery in Munich. This broad training allows me to combine modern surgical techniques with patient‑centred care.
