I am a consultant plastic, reconstructive and aesthetic surgeon and have worked at Spire Washington Hospital since 1999.
I have recently been awarded the Certificate of Cosmetic Surgery (CCS), which has been awarded by the Joint Colleges of Surgeons and BAPRAS to only a handful of surgeons in the UK, based on scrutiny of their surgical numbers, low complication rates and patient satisfaction over a representative eight-year period.
I was appointed as NHS consultant plastic surgeon to the University Hospital of North Durham in 1998 and have been lead clinician there from 2005-2017. I was MAC representative in Plastic Surgery and Clinical Governance lead at Spire Washington Hospital.
I graduated from the University of Witwatersrand Medical School and trained in plastic and reconstruction surgery in the regional plastic centres at Charing Cross Hospital in London; St John’s Hospital in Edinburgh and completed my senior registrar training at the world famous Canniesburn Hospital in Glasgow.
I have a general plastic and cosmetic surgery practice with subspecialty interests in Breast Surgery (enlargement, uplift, reduction and reconstruction), Facial Rejuvenation (face lift, eyelid reduction, nose re-shaping and ear re-shaping), Body Contouring (liposuction, abdominal reduction, arm lift, thigh lift and body lift) and non-surgical cosmetic procedures (anti-wrinkle treatments, dermal fillers, chemical peels, cryotherapy).
Recent innovations in my practice include CRISALIX 3D imaging, a unique imaging option to see what you might look like after surgery, particularly useful in breast enlargement, which you can view in the comfort of your home.
