Mr Matt Erdmann
MB BCh, FRCS (Eng), FRCS (Plast)
I am a consultant plastic, reconstructive and aesthetic surgeon. I am the most senior plastic surgeon at Spire Washington Hospital, having worked there for the past 18 years.
I was also appointed as an NHS consultant plastic surgeon to the University Hospital of North Durham in 1998 and have been lead clinician there since 2005.
I graduated from the University of Witwatersrand Medical School and trained in plastic and reconstruction surgery in the regional plastic centres at Charing Cross Hospital in London; St John’s Hospital in Edinburgh and completed my senior registrar training at the world famous Canniesburn Hospital in Glasgow.
I have a general plastic and cosmetic surgery practice with sub-specialty interests in breast surgery (enlargement, uplift, reduction and reconstruction), as well as facial rejuvenation (face lift, brow lift, eyelid reduction, nose re-shaping and ear re-shaping), body contouring (liposuction, abdominal reduction, arm reduction, thigh lift and body lift) and non-surgical cosmetic procedures (anti-wrinkle treatments, dermal fillers, chemical peels).
Recent innovations in my practice include the Body-Jet liposuction and fat transfer system, Endoscopic Carpal Tunnel release for Carpal tunnel syndrome, and most recently CRISALIX 3D imaging, a unique imaging option to see what you might look like after surgery, in the comfort of your home.
Some of the principal treatments carried out by Mr Matt Erdmann at Spire include:
