I graduated from the National University of Ireland in 1988. After obtaining my Fellowship in surgery at the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland and a Masters degree in surgery, I embarked on a career in plastic surgery. My training in plastic surgery was based in Ireland and the UK. I completed my training with two specialist Fellowships: one in aesthetic surgery at the Wellington Hospital in London and the other in breast oncology and reconstructive surgery at the Marie Curie Institute in Paris.
I commenced practice as a consultant plastic surgeon in 1999 at St George's Hospital NHS Trust, London. I have been working at the Newcastle Upon Tyne Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust since December 2002 where I provide a specialist breast reconstruction service. I am involved in a number of national plastic surgery training committees through my work with BAPRAS. My particular interests are in all aspects of aesthetic surgery as well as breast reconstructive surgery.
I have over 10 years experience as a consultant in all areas of cosmetic surgery.
