I am a UK-trained specialist hip and knee surgeon with more than 25 years of experience.
I am an expert in joint reconstruction and replacement including primary and revision hip replacement, total and partial knee replacements and robotic-assisted surgery using the MAKO Smart Robotics System.
I have a special interest in trauma and have extensive experience treating fractured neck of femurs (broken hips) and injuries and fractures all over the body. I also have a large Medicolegal practice dealing with injuries and cases of medical negligence.
Forming a critical part of both NHS and private regional multi-disciplinary teams in arthroplasty, I am regularly sought out to give opinions on complex cases. Last year I performed more than 500 hip and knee replacements putting me in the top percent of UK orthopaedic surgeons according to the National Joint Registry.
My work in orthopaedics in the NHS over the last 20 years has consistently been recognised. I am now one of the clinical leads of Heathwood Hospital, part of Frimley Health NHS Foundation Trust which is now one of the largest joint replacement units in the UK. I lead the Enhanced Recovery Programme, Same-Day Discharge Pathway, and the Post-Covid Recovery Plan. I was awarded an NHS Clinical Excellence Award by my local trust in March 2023.
Originally from New Delhi, India I trained at the Royal London Hospital and the world renowned Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital in Stanmore. After finishing my training in 2003 I was appointed as a consultant at Wexham Park Hospital, Berkshire with a special interest in lower limb joint replacements and complex trauma.
