Spire St. Anthony’s Hospital rated ‘Good’ across all areas in CQC assessment

14 September 2026

Spire St. Anthony’s Hospital has been rated ‘Good’ overall by the Care Quality Commission (CQC) following a comprehensive assessment carried out on 16 and 17 June 2026.

The hospital received ‘Good’ ratings across all five key areas assessed by the CQC: Safe, Effective, Caring, Responsive and Well-led. The assessment covered critical care, surgical, and outpatient services, with all three services rated ‘Good’.

Inspectors reported patients were treated with compassion, kindness, dignity and respect. They found the service provided high quality, person-centred care that was tailored to patients' individual needs, beliefs and preferences.

Leaders and staff understood the service's vision, values and objectives and worked to deliver high quality care. The hospital culture was characterised by openness, speaking up, listening, learning and trust.

The leadership teams had clear oversight of quality and performance through established governance processes, and the service routinely monitored and acted on quality and safety information to drive improvements.

Sophie Auld, Hospital Director at Spire St Anthony’s Hospital, said:

"We are delighted that the CQC has recognised the hard work, professionalism and dedication of our colleagues by awarding Good ratings across all five key domains.
