I am a highly qualified and experienced Consultant Orthopaedic Knee Surgeon. I am the Orthopaedic Lead Clinician at East Surrey University Hospital and an Honorary Clinical Senior Lecturer at Brighton and Sussex Medical School. I was appointed the position of Consultant Orthopaedic and Knee Surgeon at East Surrey University Hospital in 2002.
My current practice encompasses partial, total knee replacements and complex revision surgery, ligament reconstruction (ACL, PCL, multiple ligaments) surgery, meniscal surgery, cartilage regeneration procedures such as microfracture, autologous chondrocyte implantation, chondrotissue as well as autologous cellular treatments with PRP injections etc.
I am responsible for the training of medical students, junior doctors and also senior surgical trainees with an interest in knee surgery under my Knee Fellowship Programme.
I came to the UK after qualifying in Greece. I underwent basic surgical training in London SW Thames. After passing my FRCS in 1994 I undertook research which was awarded with a PhD at Robert Jones and Agnes Hunt Orthopaedic Hospital in Oswestry, with Professor JB Richardson. Upon completion of my research, I joined the North West Rotation where I received my higher orthopaedic surgical training in Manchester; I completed my training by passing the FRCS (Tr&Orth) exam and undertaking a knee fellowship in 2001 at the Royal Bolton Hospital as well as visiting a number of nationally and internationally renowned knee centres.
I am registered with the GMC and am a member of the British Medical Association, Royal College of Surgeons, British Orthopaedic Association and British Association for Surgery of the Knee.
I have presented nationally and internationally. I have published several papers in peer reviewed scientific journals and have authored book chapters.

My main hobbies include basketball and motor racing. I like to read mathematics and contemporary philosophy/popular science. I am married with three children.
