I have been a consultant ophthalmologist for seven years. I am one of the leading experts in Glaucoma in the UK employing the latest medical and surgical techniques including lasers (SLT), conventional glaucoma surgery (tube and trabeculectomy), and minimally invasive glaucoma surgery (MIGS).
To date, I have performed over 2,500 cataract replacements, over 700 glaucoma operations and over 500 glaucoma laser procedures both in the NHS and private practice.
I am an expert in complex cataract surgery, a member of the European Glaucoma Society (competitively awarded) and have been elected a Next Generation Partner in mentorship and leadership programme for the emerging leaders in glaucoma care delivery, education and research in Europe.
I am an ophthalmic surgeon specialising in all aspects of glaucoma management both surgical and medical. I also specialise in complex cataract surgery. My NHS practice is based at University Hospital Southampton NHS Trust, where I specialise in tertiary and super-specialist glaucoma and cataract management.
I am the Glaucoma Service Lead at University Hospital Southampton NHS Trust (UHS). I am the Ophthalmology Representative of Senior Medical Staffing Committee and am a member of the Local Consultant Negotiating Committee. At UHS I am the Postgraduate Teaching Lead for Ophthalmology.
