I have experience in general ophthalmology, including cataract surgery, and have a specialist interest in medical retinal diseases including age related macular degeneration, retinal vascular disease and diabetes.
I studied medicine at the Royal London Hospital and qualified as a doctor in 1995. I undertook further general medical training including six months in Neurosurgery at Kings College Hospital before commencing ophthalmology training. I undertook higher surgical training in the Wessex region and was appointed consultant ophthalmologist at Southampton Eye Unit in 2009.
I set up the Macular Degeneration service with Professor Lotery and now work part time in Southampton eye unit and Lymington Hospital.
