I am a Consultant Oncoplastic Breast Surgeon based at the University Hospital Southampton, and have a particular interest in helping patients facing breast cancer. Since qualifying as a doctor in 2008 from the University of Southampton, I've focused my career on breast surgery, gaining extensive experience in breast cancer management, with a particular emphasis on ensuring good cosmetic outcomes following breast cancer surgery. My private practice consists of treatments such as breast lump investigation and removal, breast reconstruction, mastectomy, and sentinel lymph node biopsy with lymph node removal.

My goal is to make sure you feel comfortable and well-informed every step of the way. I understand that having any type of breast issue can feel daunting, and I strive to provide care that's not only skilled and professional, but also kind, supportive, and personalised.

I have performed over 500 breast operations, whilst working for the NHS. I am experienced in performing breast conserving surgery, including using advanced oncoplastic techniques. These allow for a larger portion of the breast to be removed, whilst maintaining a good breast shape. I am also able to offer immediate breast reconstruction (using implants).

I completed my higher surgical training in the Wessex region, and during that time I also completed a Master's in Surgery (distinction) in oncoplastic breast surgery from the University of East Anglia. I then completed a specialist fellowship in oncoplastic breast surgery at University Hospital Southampton to consolidate my skills in advanced breast conserving techniques and breast reconstructive surgery. I was appointed as a consultant in Southampton in March 2022.

I work closely with the plastic surgery team in my NHS practice and am able to assess and advise on autologous (using patient’s own tissue) reconstructive options. Following breast cancer surgery, patients may be left with an asymmetry between the breasts, and I am also able to offer surgical techniques to improve this.
