I was trained in paediatrics and specialised in paediatric gastroenterology at Birmingham Children's Hospital. I have been working as a consultant at Southampton Hospital since 2011. In my current role I look after children with a broad range of gastrointestinal conditions. I have a special interest in infant nutrition and gut motility disorders.
I manage children and young adults with various gastrointestinal disorders as outpatients and also provide inpatient care. I lead the nutritional support services for children at Southampton Hospital where I facilitate nutritional rehabilitation of children and especially enjoy managing feeding problems in infancy and early childhood. I have in interest in motility disorders of the bowel and am a part of national motility working group with BSPGHAN. I am able to perform various investigations required to diagnosed gastrointestinal disorders including gastroscopy, colonoscopy, breath testing and impedance monitoring.
I perform over 150 gastroscopies and 100 colonoscopies each year. These include both diagnostic and therapeutic interventions. I also perform around 100 pH / Impedence studies each year.
