Mr Neugebauer has worked as a Consultant Ophthalmologist at Leighton and Macclesfield Hospitals since 1988.

Mr Neugebauer has developed a local ophthalmological service to provide the majority of needs for the local population and is happy to refer on, if needed.

Mr Neugebauer believes in trying to give good patient information and uses information booklets available from the Royal College of Ophthalmologists and The American Academy of Ophthalmology. Mr Neugebauer explains things in comprehensible detail to patients on clinical visits and is proud to have been elected as President of the Macclesfield Society for the Blind and President of the IRIS Foundation in Crewe.

Mr Neugebauer is happy to provide a general Ophthalmological service including cataract surgery, corneal grafts, Medical Ophthalmology, glaucoma and diabetes. The post has evolved in that now any interventions for complicated vitro-retinal surgery tends to be referred to major centres as can other problems, to either Manchester or Liverpool.
