Finding us
We’re located just a five minute drive away from Macclesfield town centre and Macclesfield station, with free parking available.
Your appointments
Typically, you should be given an appointment with one of our consultants within a few days of enquiry. Your appointment will be in one of our 10 consultation rooms, at which time your consultant may discuss your symptoms or previous diagnoses.
Additionally, sight tests and biometry testing, which is used to calculate the power of new intraocular lens (IOL), may also be carried out if needed. You may also need drops in your eye, which will mean you'll need to arrange transport home as you'll be unable to drive.
On the day of your procedure, you’ll come into Spire Regency Hospital and meet your healthcare team. If you’ve come with a friend or family member, they’re welcome to wait in our restaurant while you have your operation.
You’ll only be here for a few hours, so you won’t need to bring too much with you. You may wish to bring a change of clothes.
You’ll be given a local anaesthetic in your eye, and your consultant may also give you a sedative to make you feel more relaxed during the procedure.
When you’re ready, your consultant will:
After your cataract surgery, you’ll be taken to a recovery room to relax until your surgeon says you’re ready to go home. This is usually a few hours after cataract surgery.
