Mr Duncan Watkinson

Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon

MBBS, FRCS (Tr and Orth)

Specialises in

My orthopaedic practice concentrates exclusively on conditions affecting the shoulder and elbow. I favour keyhole techniques where possible and now carry out more than three quarters of operations arthroscopically.I now perform Platelet Rish Plasma (PRP) treatment in the out-patient department of Spire Portsmouth Hospital, allowing me to treat problems such as 'tennis elbow' without the need for surgical intervention.I qualified as a doctor from the University of Newcastle Upon Tyne in 1992 and trained as a specialist surgeon on the Wessex Orthopaedic Rotation. I had the opportunity to develop my expertise in shoulder and elbow surgery by undertaking a fellowship in France with Professor Pascal Boileau, one of the world's leading shoulder and arthroscopic surgeons.
