MBChB, FRCS (Tr & Orth)
I am a consultant orthopaedic surgeon specialising in hip and knee surgery, including primary & Mako robotic-assisted hip and knee replacement, revision hip and knee replacement and arthroscopic surgery of the knee.
I have a specialist interest in primary hip and knee replacement, revision hip replacement and arthroscopic (keyhole) knee surgery, including cartilage surgery. I also specialise in the management of periprosthetic trauma and fractures around existing joint replacements.
I lead St Richards NHS department’s elective & daycase joint replacement pathways, PROMS collection and manage the regular joint replacement MDT meeting for Chichester and Worthing’s surgeons. I regularly publish scientific articles in the orthopaedic literature and oversee the training of multiple resident doctors including specilty registrars.
I completed my undergraduate training at Leicester University Medical School in 2005, where I then underwent foundation training. I moved to Cornwall for Core Surgical Training, before higher specialty orthopaedic training in the South-West London training programme, including rotations through Chichester hospital and 18 months at the St George’s University Hospital joint reconstruction unit.
FRCS (Tr & Orth) in 2015 and being appointed to the specialist register in 2017, I went on to fellowship training at the world-renowned Ling Fellowship at the Princess Elizabeth Orthopaedic Centre in Exeter, where I further developed my practice of complex primary and revision hip arthroplasty. Following this, I undertook a further fellowship run by the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital (Stanmore), based in St Albans Hospital, with the knee and hip replacement team, gaining further experience in primary and revision joint replacement. On completion of fellowship training, I was appointed to a consultant NHS post in 2019 at St Richard’s Hospital in Chichester.
