"I enjoy working at Spire Healthcare as the team is really professional, with great facilities and equipment. I know my patients will have a good experience when they come to Spire."
My private practice mostly consists of laparoscopic surgery for bowel cancer. I specialise in laparoscopic surgery of the abdomen, mostly of the large bowel, but including the small bowel, too. I perform operations for haemorrhoids, fissures and fistulae, and anorectal conditions, as well as hernia surgery. I am a BCSP endoscopist, and perform colonoscopy and upper GI endoscopy
I am a bowel cancer screening endoscopist, which involves higher qualifications than routine colonoscopists. Our performance indicators are continuously monitored, and we are held to higher standards than routine colonoscopists.
I have been a consultant colorectal and general surgeon since 2007, firstly appointed in Queen Alexandra Hospital in Portsmouth, and then from 2009 in St Richards Hospital, Chichester.
I have preformed over 1,000 elective bowel cancer resections, (Usually over 50 a year) and between 2-3,000 colonoscopies. I carry out between 100-250 colonoscopies per year. I perform approximately 50 hernia repairs a year, and 30-50 THD procedures for haemorrhoids each year.
