I am a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon at Spire Methley Park Hospital and Mid Yorkshire Hospitals NHS Trust with a special interest in hip and knee surgery. I offer a whole array of treatment procedures from joint preservation to replacement and revision joint replacement, and I have a particular interest in complex hip and knee pathology.
I perform hip replacement using a piriformis sparring approach. By preserving this important muscle during surgery, this technique offers a higher patient satisfaction rate by allowing an accurate reconstruction of the hip joint biomechanics, minimising leg length discrepancies and the risk of hip dislocation. As a result, patients have less post-operative pain, they can walk and recover better allowing an early discharge home.
I also have an interest in knee surgery offering treatment for sports injuries as well as arthritis. I perform knee infiltrations, arthroscopy, cartilage and meniscal repairs and resection.
I am specialised in computer navigated knee replacement for knee joint deformities as well as complex joint reconstruction following previous surgeries.
In my daily practice, I also treat general orthopaedic pathology as well as fractures, especially complex fractures of the lower limb.
I have completed the basic orthopaedic training in Europe and after obtaining CCT, I have been practicing in the UK since 2013. I have specialised in complex hip and knee surgery through fellowship training at Oxford University Hospitals, UK centre of excellence for complex hip and knee pathology and at Helios ENDO-Klinik Hamburg, European centre of excellence for revision hip and knee replacement and periprosthetic joint infection. I have completed a further fellowship in computer navigated joint replacement at Derriford Hospital, Plymouth.
