Dr Mallya trained in Mangalore University, India in 1990 and was further awarded MD (Anaesthesia) in 1994. He moved to United Kingdom in 1996 and completed training within the Yorkshire Deanery in 2008.
Dr Mallya was appointed to Locum Consultant Anaesthetist in Scunthorpe. General Hospital and subsequently appointed to the substantive post of Consultant Anaesthetist & Chronic Pain in 2009. Since 2009 he has been working in Scunthorpe & Goole Hospitals as a Consultant Anaesthetist & Chronic Pain specialist. Dr Mallya's interests are in treating chronic low back pain, neuropathic pain, chronic abdominal pain, CRPS.
He has a holistic approach to management of chronic pain patients and this includes medications, complementary and physical therapy and nerve blocks.
