Tattoo removal at Spire Little Aston Hospital

This treatment is for patients who have unwanted tattoos and would like to remove the tattoo.

You will have a formal consultation with a healthcare professional. During this time you will be able to explain your medical history, symptoms and raise any concerns that you might have.

We will also discuss with you whether any further diagnostic tests, such as scans or blood tests, are needed. Any additional costs will be discussed before further tests are carried out.

Some small tattoos might would be ideal for surgical removal. The surgeon removes the tattoo using a scalpel and closes the wound with stitches. This technique proves highly effective in removing some tattoos and allows the surgeon to remove the inked areas with great precision.

The local anaesthetic will wear off in approximately one hour.

Apart from a mild discomfort, most people do not experience any high level of discomfort after the procedure. Mild pain relief, such as paracetamol, can be taken to ease discomfort if needed.

The recovery time is not long with tattoo removal. We recommend four weeks until you are fully recovered.

It will be 12 weeks until the final result.
