"Spire Little Aston provides great care, as confirmed by CQC. It has an excellent outpatient department with all facilities available to do ENT procedures such as endoscopy of ear, nose or throat."
I have been an ENT consultant for over 10 years. I am a practising ENT specialist and Laryngologist (voice specialist). As part of my general ENT service, I see patients with chronic tonsillitis, swallowing problems, neck lumps, ear pain, ear infections, nasal blockages, nasal polyps and voice problems. I perform fibre optic nasal and laryngoscopy, ear micro-suction in my outpatient clinic.
I specialise and perform all forms of general ENT surgeries such as tonsillectomy, laryngology surgery for voice-related problems, laryngeal framework (surgery that alters the cartilage of the voice box), endoscopy, parathyroid, and removal of neck lumps. I perform all these surgeries in both the NHS and the private sector.
I work closely with a speech and language therapist, a singing coach and a neurophysiologist. I have a keen interest in patients with parathyroid problems ie hypercalcaemia and hyperparathyroidism and work closely with our endocrinologists too.
I am a clinical tutor and lead for Certificate of Eligibility for Specialist Registration (CESR) applications for University Hospitals Birmingham.
I am part of the Faculty for Simulation Training. Simulation training has been crucial for trainee doctors. I am an accredited supervisor for the trainees.
Some of the principal treatments carried out by Mrs Anita Sonsale at Spire include:
Ear Nose and Throat (ENT)
I also treat voice related problems and offer surgery, as well as benign tumour's in the parathyroid glands (parathyroid adenoma).
