As a highly skilled and experienced consultant surgeon, I specialise in providing expert care for patients undergoing hip and knee replacement surgery. My expertise includes complex revision arthroplasty (Joint replacements) for a wide range of causes, including unexplained pain, septic or aseptic loosening, component malalignment, wear or dislocation.

I also have extensive experience in robotic assisted arthroplasty, utilising CT scan planning and the MAKO robot to improve outcomes for my patients.

With over 1,000 joint replacement surgeries under my belt (at the time of writing, January 2023) I perform approximately 200 hip and knee replacements annually and over 30 complex revision surgeries.

I am now able to offer Mako robotic-arm assisted knee and hip replacements for appropriate patients at Spire Little Aston Hospital. The use of a personalised surgical plan from a CT scan provides greater accuracy in placement and alignment of joint replacement.

Prior to my current role as Clinical Director for Trauma and Orthopaedics at Walsall Manor Hospital, I served as Trauma Lead and Hip Fracture Lead, where I received national recognition for the quality improvement projects I implemented to reduce mortality, length of stay and improve all aspects of care for elderly and frail patients.

In addition to my clinical work, I am a recognised trainer for the Birmingham Orthopaedic Rotation, and I have been runner up in trainer of the year for the last three years. I am also a proud recipient of an ASG (Austria-Switzerland-Germany) Fellowship, which I used to travel to the biggest centres of excellence in Europe and further pursue my interests in infection and complex revision arthroplasty.

I understand the importance of providing the best possible service for my patients, and I care about every patient I see. I am dedicated to providing expert care and utilising the latest technology and techniques to achieve the best possible outcomes for my patients.

I am extensively published in Orthopaedics.

Professional leadership

I am Clinical Director for Trauma and Orthopaedics at Walsall Manor Hospital, where my role is to direct my department. During my time in this role I have helped create the Virtual Fracture Clinic which has improved patient care as all patients are assessed within the national standard of 72 hours from injury, and we have now developed into phase 2, which is efficiently communicating outcomes to patients.
Prior to this I was a trauma lead and helped improve care for hip fracture patients that was nationally recognised by HQIP.

Clinical Director for Trauma and Orthopaedics at The Walsall Healthcare NHS Trust

I have a fantastic family life and enjoy spending time with my wife and children, I volunteer to help out with my son's football team. I have also taken up running since lock down and have completed the London 2022 marathon, where I raised over £2,500 for age concern. This year I'm running the great north run in memory of my father for Alzheimer's research.
