Mr Seyed Ashgar Ali
Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon
MBBS, MS Orth, MCh Orth, FRCS Orth

After undergoing extensive training (in general orthopaedics and trauma) I currently work as a specialist orthopaedic foot and ankle consultant at the New Queen Elizabeth Hospital of The University of Birmingham.
I have a keen interest in total ankle replacement and have undergone specialist training in Liestal, Switzerland. To add to this I have undertaken advanced training in ankle arthroscopy at the Amsterdam Medical Centre Hospital in Amsterdam, a world-renowned Sports Injury Centre. My specialism is in arthroscopic lateral ligament reconstruction of the ankle joint which is done only in a handful of centres in the country.
I'm actively involved in the teaching and training of junior doctors as part of the West Midlands Postgraduate Orthopaedic Training Scheme. I have published articles in International Journals and presented papers at numerous National and International conferences.
