I am a well trained advanced laparoscopic (keyhole) surgeon. I regularly manage and treat anal fissures and anal fistula with advanced modalities. I am a certified endoscopist (colonoscopy, flexible sigmoidoscopy) for diagnosis and management of bowel diseases. I also deal with simple and complex colon polyps.

I perform a highly skilled procedure for early rectal cancer (TAMIS). I am also trained to undertake single incision laparoscopic surgery (SILS) in selected cases. I also deal with other benign bowel conditions including diverticular disease, functional bowel diseases (IBS, Constipation and diarrhoea). I have been trained in dealing with rectal bleeding and treating haemorrhoids (piles).

Apart from colorectal surgery, I regularly undertake surgery laparoscopically (where applicable) including general surgical procedures like abdominal hernia, incisional hernia, inguinal hernia, umbilical hernia, femoral hernia, gallstone and gallbladder disease, pilonidal sinuses as well as lumps and bumps.

I was trained predominantly in the East Midlands region with specialist training in Queens Medical Centre, Nottingham and obtained CCST (Certificate of Completion of Specialty Training). I finished my specialist colorectal fellowship at Queens Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham and appointed as a Consultant at UHDB (University Hospital of Derby and Burton). As part of my fellowship, I was also trained to manage pelvic floor problems including incontinence and rectal prolapse.

I am now working as a Consultant at Manor Hospital Walsall. I have got a special interest in colorectal cancer diagnosis and surgery. I undertake complex surgery for inflammatory bowel disease (Crohn’s and ulcerative colitis).
