Specialises in
I am the Lead Oncoplastic Breast Surgeon at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Birmingham. My specialist area is exclusively breast disease, breast cancer surgery and all breast related problems. As an Oncoplastic Surgeon, I integrate plastic surgery techniques into breast cancer surgery to preserve and enhance aesthetical outcomes without compromising disease control.
I completed the prestigious National Oncoplastic Fellowship in Manchester under the tutorage of leading Plastic and Reconstructive Breast Surgeons. This fellowship, one of only nine GMC recognised posts in the country, was carried out at the UK's largest screening breast unit.
I trained at several prestigious international units: Harvard Medical & Dana Faber (Boston, USA), Institut Curie (Paris), The Christie and UHSM. I was awarded the Ronald Raven Award from the Royal College of Surgeons and gained the highest marks at the European Breast Surgery exams in Austria.
My research includes risk-reducing surgery and familial breast cancer. My research doctorate (MD) investigated Contralateral Breast Cancer in high risk patients (including BRCA1/2 carriers). I publish and present work at a national and international level. I am an active trainer, teaching plastic and breast surgeons at a national and local level.
