I have been a consultant in General Surgery for over 25 years and have been the bariatric surgeon for Walsall Manor Hospital since 1992. I have a specialist interest in vascular surgery, obesity, weight loss surgery and laparoscopy (key-hole surgery). I am particularly experienced in weight loss surgery and have performed several thousand weight-reducing operations including gastroplasties, laparoscopic gastric banding and balloon insertions, open and laparoscopic gastric bypass surgery. Biliopancreatic bypass, mini gastric bypass and sleeve gastrectomy. I also perform redo-weight loss surgery for patients with weight regain and complications.
My special interests are: - Vascular surgery including carotids under local anaesthetic, varicose veins and all other aspects of vascular surgery and treatment of hyperhidrosis and facial blushing. - Laparoscopic surgery including open and laparoscopic hernias as well as inguinal and incisional, gallbladders, varicocele and anti-reflux surgery. - Day case surgery includes inguinal hernia, incisional hernia and lumps and bumps.

I am married with two children, a son who has recently completed his masters in global development and a daughter who has recently qualified as a barrister. I love watching sports, especially cricket and socialising with friends and entertaining. I am also a trustee for two charities, Artificial Limb Centre in Pakistan and Dow Graduates Association of Northern Europe.
