My main interest is in prostate cancer. I am a consultant urological surgeon specialising in robotic prostate cancer surgery, with over 10 years’ experience in urology and a high-volume practice focused on robot-assisted radical prostatectomy, robotic cystectomy and transperineal prostate biopsies. I completed a urological fellowship in Oxford and hold relevant specialist certifications in robotic surgery. My practice is data-driven and outcomes-focused: I routinely track operative performance, complexity factors and patient outcomes to optimise cancer control while prioritising continence and sexual function recovery.
I am actively involved in research and publications in prostate cancer, with a particular interest in imaging-led and genomics-informed decision-making, and I bring clear, direct communication to support patients through their prostate cancer diagnosis, treatment, treatment selection, and recovery.
I specialise in prostate cancer diagnosis and surgical treatment, with a particular focus on robot-assisted radical prostatectomy (prostate removal), and transperineal prostate biopsy. My practice is mostly on the prostate, and pelvic urological anatomy, delivering prostatectomy with a tailored approach to nerve-sparing and reconstruction to support cancer control while prioritising continence and sexual function recovery. I offer modified Retzius sparing surgery. In addition to prostate cancer work, I perform robotic cystectomy (bladder removal), core endourological procedures including TURP (for benign prostatic enlargement and bladder outflow obstruction) and TURBT (for diagnosis and treatment of bladder tumours), managing conditions of the prostate, bladder and lower urinary tract.
I currently operate at a high-volume rate of 80+ prostatectomies per year across my NHS practice, alongside a large number of transperineal prostate biopsies (biopsies taken through the skin between the legs) for men being investigated for possible prostate cancer. I also perform TURP (endoscopic surgery to improve urine flow for an enlarged prostate) and TURBT (endoscopic removal/biopsy of bladder tumours). I keep a detailed outcomes log and routinely review results, such as cancer clearance, and recovery of urinary control and sexual function, so I can give clear, evidence-based advice tailored to each patient.
Alongside my clinical work, I maintain an active role in prostate cancer research and publications, with a focus on using better data (including imaging and genetics where appropriate) to improve decision-making and outcomes. I take a data-driven approach to practice, keeping a detailed record of operative performance and patient outcomes to support continuous improvement and transparent discussions with patients.
I also contribute to service development and quality improvement in prostate cancer diagnostics and robotic surgery pathways, helping to refine patient selection, standardise best practice, and improve the overall patient experience from assessment through recovery.
